2017 Donation Items

So what does $10 or 10 mean in Lucy's $10 or 10 Second Annual Kids Charity Concert?
Lucy's goal is to raise money and collect needed items to help fight childhood hunger. To do that, she's created the $10 or 10 ticket price. So what does that mean? To get in, you need to either bring $10, 10 items from the below lists, or any combination of $ + items = 10 to get in! So you can give $2 and 8 cans of soup, or $5, 1 jar of peanut butter, 3 seed packets, and 1 box of mac n' cheese. Or, you could give 3 bags of rice and $7, or 5 jars each of peanut butter and jelly. It's completely up to you! Cool, huh?

Donation List

If you decide to donate items, please take a look at the attached list of Best Foods To Donate To A Food Drive that the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank sent me. Here's the info it contains:

Foods high in fat, oils and sugar provide calories, but few nutrients. These foods make up a high percentage of many diets because they are inexpensive and easy to obtain.

It is therefore important to provide healthful foods for those with limited financial resources to supplement their restricted choices with healthy alternatives.

A key point to highlight is that while an overweight person may look well-fed, they may be filling up on calorie-dense food that does not contain the nutrients their body needs. Take a look at the food groups below to help guide you in providing healthy choices.
